Phil Jurkovec, a Boston College quarterback, plans to join the 2023 NCAA transfer portal per college football insider Pete Thamel.

Jurkovec is a graduate transfer and has one year remaining eligibility.

Since 2020, Jurkovec is the Boston College's starting quarterback. Jurkovec began college football as a backup quarterback at Notre Dame. He joined the Fighting Irish team in 2018 as a four-star recruit.

Jurkovec was limited by injuries and started 24 games in his three-year Eagles stint -- collecting 5,183 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.

Due to minor knee and hip injuries, the veteran signal caller was unable to participate in the final month 2022 season. He is expected to be fully fit by next year's spring practice.

Jurkovec is expected to be one of this year's most experienced players in the transfer portal. Thamel said that the 23-year old QB is seeking "an opportunity to develop, play and lead a programme."

Jurkovec could be drafted by the NFL if he puts together a strong 2023 season.
