Republican sues lesbian opponent to be declared the winner even though he's losing

The Republican candidate for Arizona attorney general is suing a lawsuit to contest the results after a close contest against his gay Democratic candidate Kris Mayes shows her in the leading

Abe Hamadeh has been joined in his suit by Republican National Committee (RNC) 

Together, they're taking on county boards of supervisors and recorders, as well as secretary of state Katie Hobbs (D), who was recently elected governor of the state 

The race is scheduled for a recount in which Mayes is ahead by 515 votes. AZ Mirror stated that it was the closest overall elections ever in Arizona history. 

The lawsuit does not just demand that Hobbs stop declaring Mayes to be the winner, but is also asking for Hamadeh is declared winner 

the New York Times said. Hamadeh claims there wasn't any "fraud, manipulation or other intentional wrongdoing" but he says some mistakes in the voting process resulted in him losing to Mayes 

Hamadeh as well as the RNC claim that a collection separated ballots, 146 of which were provisional votes and 273 mail-in ballots which were taken away due to the fact that the system indicated these voters had cast their votes in person - must be counted
