Powerball Illinois Lottery: 13 IL players win money from record-breaking $2.04B drawing

The ticket to win the jackpot was sold by Joe's Service Center in Altadena which is an unincorporated town in the hills within Los Angeles. 

More than a dozen lucky Illinois Lottery players have won large sums of money during the record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball drawing. 

The biggest winner was from California The winner was in California, but 13 others from Illinois are also eligible to take home a portion of the prizes 

Two players played four numbers, and also the Powerball. Additionally, they played the "Power Play" feature to make each winner $100,000 in the words of lottery officers. 

Eleven other players combined four numbers as well as the Powerball to win each $50,000 

A majority of the winning tickets were purchased in stores across the Chicagoland region, lottery officials stated 

More than 400 000 winning tickets were offered in the drawing, and there were more than $2.8 million of prizes being won in Illinois during the historic drawing officials noted.
