First time Powerball player from Michigan wins $1 million prize

Joni Thompson has never played Powerball before, but due to the excitement of the world record $2.040 million jackpot 

she finally decided to break down and get an entry ticket 

It was a surprise to her that she was on the verge of becoming the state's latest millionaire after she was able to match the five white numbers drawn 

10-33-41, 47-56 the draw on November. 8 in order to win the $1 million prize in her first attempt.
